Spiced Apple Butter
Cherry Tea Cakes post this amazing recipe. Seriously....aaaaahhhhmaaaaazingly good. I will be making this again and again in the future.
I made just a tiny batch for immediate use. As much as I love apple butter I don't go through it very quickly. ;)
Spiced Apple Butter
2 apples, peeled, cored, and diced
3 tbls apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp Chinese five spice
In a small sacuepan, cook apples and cider over a low heat until soft. Toss mixture into food processor until smooth. Return to saucepan and add remaining ingredients. Cook over low heat, until thick and bubbly. Remove from heat and allow to cool before chilling.

I love that you could spread this over a lot of different things, and with the apple favor it would likely be amazing. Great find!

ReplyDeleteI love the fact that you made just a small amount. There's not much worse than using up a bunch of fruit, only to find that the finished result isn't what you hoped for.
ReplyDeleteLooking at that beautiful color though, I'd say the spicing in the apple butter is perfect.
